Below is a list of key numbers in several local, county, and state agencies that may be able to assist you with specific problems. Use this directory in you neighborhood watch to help each other solve problems that may come up in the neighborhood.
Police Department

Call the lower ranking officer to begin with and explain the problem in detail in a clear and calm matter. If the officer that you are talking to cannot help with the problem ask him or her for advice on whom you should contact. |

Uniform Division
|
This division is the uniform patrol cars. It is the officers that respond to 911 calls and do routine patrol. Shift commanders, who are lieutenants, are in charge of all three shifts. There are two sergeants on each shift also who are first line supervisors. Start with the Sergeants with a problem. The sergeants and lieutenants go out on the street quite often so leave a message on voice mail. |

Uniform Division Commander The Uniform Division Commander, who is a Captain, is in charge of the uniform division overall. His hours are Monday through Friday. 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. |

Community Services Section
|
Community Services Section This section acts as a liaison with the community. The officers assigned to this unit do crime prevention programs in the community. It also includes the Citizen Police Academy, the Crime Free Multi Housing Program and others.
The Police Area Representives (PAR) also work out of this office. PAR officers are assigned to do problem solving in the neighborhoods.
This section is supervised by a Sergeant. There is one community services officer and three PAR officers. |

Traffic Division / Special Operations
|
Traffic Unit Generally handle all duties related to traffic enforcement including special events. If there is a traffic problem call this unit. There are traffic officers working between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM. A sergeant supervises this unit. |

Criminal Investigation Division

This division has the responsibility of following up on all active cases within the police department. If you have any questions about the status of a criminal case call this division. It is supervised by two sergeants and a captain. Call the sergeants first with any problems. |

Vice and Narcotics This unit is responsible for investigation into narcotics and vice violations. It is supervised by a sergeant and a lieutenant. Their hours vary greatly so leave a message on voice mail. |

Animal Control Anything to do with problems with animals including barking dogs or dogs that run loose. Animal Control is in operation for nuisance problems 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Problems that occur outside of these hours can be addressed by them during the day hours. Call them for more information. |
